Rental policies

The signed rental agreement controls. This page summarizes the main points.

Who can rent

  • Renters 21 and older with a valid driver's license.
  • Young driver fee: drivers 21–24 pay an additional $20 per day, added automatically at checkout.
  • One-time ID check at checkout: license photo and a selfie, approved by GMR before pickup.
  • Driver record check: GMR screens every renter's driving record (MVR) and license status through our screening partner, Checkr. You give written authorization at checkout; we don't run the check without it. A record that doesn't meet GMR's standards may mean we can't approve the rental, and any payment is then refunded in full.
  • Your own full-coverage auto insurance is required on every car, uploaded at checkout and verified before pickup.
  • Only the renter on the agreement may drive. California only.

Pickup, return & delivery

  • Pickup between 8 AM and 5 PM at 12918 Sherman Way, North Hollywood, CA 91605.
  • Delivery and pickup at your address: $75 flat.
  • 1-hour grace period after your return time. After that, $50 per hour; after 2 hours late, a full additional day applies.
  • Extra hours can be added at checkout: $40 per hour on everyday cars, 30% of the daily rate per hour on luxury and exotic cars.
  • Return with the same fuel level. Mileage limits are shown on each listing; $1.00 per mile over.

Payment & deposits

  • The rental total and a refundable security deposit are paid at booking through PayPal (PayPal, Venmo, Pay Later or card). Your dates lock when payment clears.
  • Unpaid checkouts hold the car for 30 minutes, then the dates reopen.
  • If your ID or insurance can't be approved, the full payment is refunded.
  • The deposit is returned within 10 business days of return and inspection, less any itemized deductions under the rental agreement.

Cancellation

  • Free cancellation within 24 hours of booking.
  • 7 or more days before pickup: full refund.
  • Inside 7 days of pickup: 50% of the rental total is charged; the deposit is refunded in full.
  • There is no right to cancel once the vehicle has been released to you.

Damage & claims

Condition photos are taken at pickup and return. The renter is responsible for damage, tolls, tickets and fees as set out in the rental agreement, with an itemized written statement for any deduction.

Optional roadside assistance

$10 per day on economy and standard cars, $15 per day on luxury, performance and exotic cars. Covers towing, flat tires, jump-starts, lockouts and fuel delivery.
